PREVIEW/REVIEW
SEOUL, KOREA

From John

Seoul is a very interesting city,
very approachable.

Once off the first tier highways,
the boulevards all
hide narrow residential/light commercial streets
right off of them.

The scale is much different
than acomparable large American city
(although, with 10
million people in Seoul,
even New York is not quite
comparable).

There is barely room
for two cars to pass
in opposite directions
on most streets,
and cars still
park all along them.

It is a very pedestrian city,
with walkers,
cyclists and autos
all sharing the
streets in very close proximity.

It would be suicide back home,
but it seems to work well here.
t makes for very integrated,
close communities in the neighborhoods.

And all the people are extremely open
and friendly.
