Carlene Neihart
nationally and internationally
known organist
is the organist at Unity on the Plaza
and organist and Director of Music
at the New Reform Temple
both in Kansas City, Missouri.

Additionally she is Artist-in-Residence
at Mid-America Nazarene University
in Olathe, Kansas.

As an active concert organist
she has played recitals and given
workshops all across
the United States and Canada
and has performed 13 times in Europe.

She has played for many universities
church organ dedications
and concert series,
American Guild of Organists chapters
and American Guild of Organists conventions.

Mrs. Neihart represented the United States
in nine concerts in the Netherlands
in celebration and recognition
of Two Hundred Years
of Dutch-United States relationships.

She was also selected
by the National Endowment for the Arts
to play organ recitals overseas
under the auspices
of the United States' Embassies.

In 1984 she was named
United States Solo Artist
by the National Endowment
for the Arts.

She was also named both
the Kansas Touring Artist
and the Missouri Touring Artist.

Mrs. Neihart has been chosen for
Who's Who of American Women
Who's Who of American Musicians
Who's Who of Musicians in the World
Foremost Women of the Twentieth Century
International Who's Who in Music
and Who's Who of American Keyboard Artists.

She was honored in 2002
by the Kansas City Chapter
of the American Guild of Organists
when it was decided to name
their annual organ competition
after her because of her
outstanding organ teaching
and performing.

She has also been chosen
as the honoree for 2003
by the Kansas City Music Club
for the Outstanding Musician of the Year
and The One Who Has Contributed
Greatly to the Musical Life
in Kansas City.
